It means that with a Wayfarer in your hiking gear, you can provide a whole group of people with clean, safe drinking water.
Travelling with Wayfarer
A truly flexible option, the LifeSaver Wayfarer takes water from any freshwater source and transforms it into safe, great-tasting drinking water. You can draw the water straight from the source - a river, stream, lake or pond - or you can collect the water in a larger container to purify later.
Either way, simply connect both hoses, drop the grey In-Hose into the water source and the clear Out-Hose into a water bottle, and pump the handle.
One Wayfarer can be used to keep the whole family or travel group safely hydrated - wherever you go. Which means minimal equipment to carry.

The LifeSaver Wayfarer uses advanced ultrafiltration technology to remove 99.99% of viruses, bacteria, cysts, parasites, and microplastics from contaminated water. Simply fill from any freshwater source, pump to activate the filtration system, and drink clean, safe water. No batteries or power required.
Each cartridge is capable of purifying up to 5,000 litres of contaminated water before needing replacement. The cartridge has an integrated failsafe mechanism that prevents water flow once it reaches capacity, ensuring you never drink unfiltered water.
The LifeSaver Wayfarer doesn't store water - it's an inline pump.
Rinse the Wayfarer with clean water periodically. Replace activated carbon filters as needed for fresh-tasting water. When the cartridge reaches 5,000L capacity, it will automatically stop flowing - simply replace with a genuine LifeSaver replacement cartridge. Store in a cool, dry place when not in use.
